'Porch Pirate' Caught After Stealing From Gloucester Co. Home: Police
The parcel contained more than $4K in electronic devices, authorities said.
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man accused of stealing a package from a Gloucester County porch was apprehended Wednesday, officials said.
Shortly after a FedEx delivery, German Gomez Mendez took the package Dec. 13 from the front steps of an Oak Avenue home, according to Franklin Township police. The parcel contained more than $4,000 in electronic devices, authorities said.
An "alert neighbor" helped identify the suspect after law enforcement publicly shared a photo from surveillance footage, according to the Franklin Township Police Department.

Police brought Gomez Mendez, 24, to their headquarters Wednesday for questioning. The Pennsauken resident cooperated with the investigation and admitted to taking the package, authorities said.
Gomez Mendez was charged with third-degree theft and released with a pending court date.
