West Deptford Sees 3 Coronavirus Deaths In Less Than A Week
After not seeing any fatalities related to the coronavirus since July, three West Deptford residents have now died of the virus in six days.
WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — After several months without a fatality, West Deptford has now seen three coronavirus-related deaths in less than a week, according to Gloucester County officials.
The most recent death, announced Monday morning, involved an 81-year-old West Deptford resident. They are the 20th West Deptford resident and 260th Gloucester County resident to die after testing positive for the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.
On Nov. 18, Gloucester County officials announced an 83-year-old man had become the first West Deptford resident since July to die after testing positive for the coronavirus. Read more here: West Deptford Sees 1st Coronavirus Death Since July

The county also announced 117 new cases on Monday, bringing the county's total to 8,465 since the beginning of the pandemic. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases.
Five of the new cases involved West Deptford residents. The following information is known about the West Deptford cases:
- A 66-year-old man;
- A 63-year-old man;
- A 47-year-old man;
- A 37-year-old woman; and
- A 51-year-old woman.
As of Monday, 488 West Deptford residents had tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic began, and 20 have died. Gloucester County has conducted 91,331 total tests. Of these cases, 82,866 have come back negative.
Gloucester County is expecting the number of cases to increase. Officials remind residents that social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases.
