2 Killed After Car Crashes Into Tree In Union County

Police are urging witnesses to contact them with any information on Wednesday's crash in Berkeley Heights.

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ — Two Berkeley Heights residents were killed after crashing into a tree on Wednesday.

The names of the residents are being withheld to respect the family's privacy, said Police Chief William Ives.

The accident happened at around 2:26 p.m. on Park Avenue near Hamilton Avenue.

A preliminary investigation found that the vehicle hit a tree. No other vehicles were involved.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The patients were taken to Morristown Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.
