6-Car Crash Injures 1 Driver In Westfield

The crash caused East North Avenue to close for several hours on Wednesday.

WESTFIELD, NJ — One driver was injured following a six-car crash in Westfield on Wednesday.

At around 3:30 p.m., a crash was reported on East North Avenue between 4th Avenue and Hillcrest Avenue.

The driver of a red pickup truck was traveling westbound on East North Avenue when they rear-ended a grey suburban that was also traveling westbound, said Westfield Police Lt. Michael Walsh.

The crash caused the Suburban to crash into a parked vehicle pushing it forward and then causing that parked vehicle to hit several vehicles all parked against the curbline, said Walsh.

All four parked cars were unoccupied. No one was taken to hospital.

The driver of the Suburban, who was hit from behind, had a complaint of pain.

No summonses have been issued at this time. The roadway was closed for the removal of vehicles.
