Interviews To Select Next Westfield BOE Member Will Be Held Tuesday

Who will be the next member on the Westfield Board of Education?

Westfield, NJ -- Potential candidates looking to fill a vacancy on the Westfield Board of Education will be interviewed Tuesday.

Board members will meet privately at 4:45 p.m. on June 14 in the Board Room of the Administration Building, 302 Elm Street, Westfield, to conduct interviews for the vacancy on the Board of Education. 

The position opened up after Mitch Slater resigned. Slater was elected in 2010 and his last day of his term will be on June 30.

Applicants would fill his position for the six-months (until December) and also have a chance to run for a new three-year term which begins on January 2017 followed by an election process on Nov. 8, 2016.

After the private interview session the board will reconvene at 7:30 p.m. in a public session to transact the regular business.
