Westfield Pizzeria Leads Charge Against Plastics

WESTFIELD, NJ - Outta Hand Pizza and owner Burim Regjaj continues to make waves in the community as the active entrepreneur has taken a stand against single use plastics in his Westfield eatery.

"Whether the climate crisis is real or not, whether it's human-caused or not, we cannot afford to 'wait and see,' Regjaj said.

In response, Regjaj has brought the first shipment of compostable utensils, drinking cups, straws, and paper plates into the restaurant and according to Regjaj that is only the beginning.

"Brown paper recycled bags, and seashell base containers next," Regjaj said.

In his first year of operation, Regjaj has been going big with moves in the community. His eatery won the Westfield Area YMCA Pizza Palooza contest, he piloted a program to feed American veterans, rallied the community behind a single mother on the verge of losing her home and hosted Pizza With Police for the Westfield Police Department.

The business also created the world's largest siciliano flag pie last month in a bid to grab a world record.
