Emergency Personnel Respond to Report of Gas Leak

The scene has since been cleared after PSE&G did not get any erroneous readings

Police, firefighters and PSE&G representatives responded to Sixth Avenue and Boulevard Tuesday afternoon after reports of a smell of gas from several homes.

Police at the scene said the gas smell happened after tremors from the earthquake hit, but didn't know if the two events were related. The call came in shortly before 2:30 p.m.

Later Westwood Police Chief Frank Regino said "there was no indication whatsoever" that the earthquake in Virginia had anything to do with the calls.
