Mayor Janet Sobkowicz has announced that the Township will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 28, starting at 9:30 a.m. The parade route starts at President Road, goes east on Ridgewood Road to Colonial Blvd., goes north toe Washington Ave., goes west to Pascack Road, and proceeds south to Town Hall. A memorial service is conducted at Veterans Square.
The parade planning committee is creating a display board in the Senior Center of the Town Hall to honor all our veterans. Any veterans, or their family or friends, who have memorabilia of their time in service in the form of pictures or written material are requested to bring the material to Bernadette Pomykala on the 2nd Floor at the Town Hall. She will scan the originals and return them to you.
The committee is also looking for volunteers to drive their Convertible Cars and Antique Cars in the parade. Please call Bernadette at (201) 664-4404 if you can help.
On behalf of the entire Township, Mayor Sobkowicz cordially invites all veterans to join in the parade. You are welcome to march with the VFW contingent or ride on its float. If you are interested or have any questions, please call Steve Kohlreiter at (201) 358-1294.
