, 605 Pascack Road, Washington Township:

The Bergen County YJCC offers senior programs each week. Lunch is served Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon for senior members. The UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey and the U.S.D.A. subsidize the lunches. There are often special programs that coincide with the meals.

  • There is a Senior Adult Day Trip planned to the Estates of Westchester Thursday, Aug. 11. Reservations for the trip are due July 28. The trip includes a visit to the estates and gardens of Boscobel and Lyndhurst Castle. For more information, contact Senior Adult Director Devra Kanter at 201-666-6610, ext. 263 or dkanter@yjcc.org.

, 55 Jefferson Ave., Westwood:

The Westwood Recreation Department offers a class for seniors ages 55 and older Tuesdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Westwood Community Center, 55 Jefferson Ave., Westwood. Classes are free for Westwood residents and cost $15 per month or $5 per class for non-residents. Call the Recreation Department at 201-664-7882 weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to register.

  • Bingo at 1 p.m.
  • Lunch is Pasta

Jack Woods Senior Center, 350 Hudson Ave., Washington Township:

The next meeting of the Golden Seniors of the Township of Washington will be Wednesday, July 13 from noon to 2:30 p.m. The business meeting will be held in the Jack Woods Senior Center in the , 350 Hudson Ave.

New Senior Bus Schedule in Washington Township:

The township posted the new senior bus schedule on its website recently. Seniors should call the at 201-664-3268 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Here is the new schedule:

Monday:

  • The bus leaves the DPW garage at 10 a.m. to pick up residents.
  • The bus returns to ShopRite at noon to drive residents home.

Wednesday (when there is a senior meeting):

  • The bus leaves the DPW garage at 11 a.m. to pick up residents.
  • The bus is parked outside the senior center at 2 p.m. to drive residents home.

Friday (alternates between Westwood Plaza and Paramus Park):

  • The bus leaves the DPW garage at 10 a.m. to pick up residents.
  • The bus returns to Westwood Plaza or Paramus Park at 12:30 p.m. to drive residents home.

Doctor Appointments:

  • Seniors must make their appointments on days the bus is available and within certain hours.
