Township Home Destroyed By Gas-Fueled Fire
Heavy flames tear through Coolidge Avenue home.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP -- A Coolidge Avenue home was destroyed by fire Sunday after gasoline fumes ignited inside its garage, according to a published report.
CliffviewPilot.com reported that more than 100 firefighters battled the blaze and that one firefighter, Roy Scherer, who is also a police sargeant, was taken to the hospital for a gash to his head.
The fire broke out around 9:45 p.m.
