Township Police Warn of Recent Car Burglaries

Police chief asks residents to report suspicious activity

Washington Township police want residents to be on alert after three recent car burglaries on the east side of the township.

According to Officer Heather Castronova, the burglaries occurred on Howard Street May 6, Cross Street May 9 and Mountain Avenue May 10. All cases occurred in the early morning hours, Castronova said. The burglar or burglars took money and GPS units, according to Castronova, who said the vehicle windows were smashed in one of the incidents.

Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and leave outside lights by their home illuminated.

Police Chief Randy Ciocco would like "residents to take an active roll in keeping our community safe by reporting all suspicious persons and incidents in a timely manner."
