Utility Gas Service Prices Fell in March, While Gasoline Prices Rose

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released March consumer price index data for New York and New Jersey.

The cost of utility gas service keeps dropping, while gasoline prices continue increasing, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Bureau recently released consumer price index data for New York and New Jersey from the month of March.

The price of utility gas service dropped 3.3 percent from February, continuing a 15.2 percent drop over the previous 12 months. That drop was nearly offset by the rise in gasoline prices, which increased 3.2 percent.

Overall, prices increased just 0.2 percent from February to March, and by 2.4 percent year-over-year. Check the Bureau of Labor Statistics website for more consumer price index information.
