Westwood Crash Sends Two to Hospital

The two-car crash happened shortly after 2 p.m. Monday

and the responded to the scene of a crash Monday afternoon at the intersection of Irvington Street and Madison Avenue.

According to Police Chief Frank Regino, one vehicle heading south on Madison Avenue intending to drive across Irvington Street toward Westwood House struck another vehicle traveling on Irvington Street toward Washington Avenue. He said the driver said at the scene that the struck car was not visible when stopped at the stop sign.

Regino said the driver of the vehicle on Irvington Street complained of lower back pain but refused medical attention at the scene. The driver and passenger in the other vehicle were taken by Westwood ambulance to . He said the driver complained of neck pain and the passenger of shoulder pain.

Motorists were not permitted to turn from Broadway onto Irvington Street while the crash was being cleared.
