Possible Fatal Stabbing On N.J. Turnpike, Closing Exit Ramp: Authorities

A possible fatal stabbing has happened on the New Jersey Turnpike, closing an exit ramp.

A possible fatal stabbing has closed an exit ramp on the New Jersey Turnpike, as police continue to investigate the situation, according to authorities.

The New Jersey State Police says it is investigating the homicide that occurred just off of the New Jersey Turnpike near Exit 12 in Carteret.

At 3:21 a.m., troopers and detectives from Troop “D” Cranbury Station responded to the report of a bleeding, unconscious man. When troopers arrived, they discovered the male victim, police said.

As a result, the New Jersey State Police Homicide North Unit, Crime Scene Investigations Unit and detectives from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office were called to the scene.

The State Police Homicide North is currently leading the investigation. A woman connected to the incident is in custody and being questioned, police said.

News12 reported the incident was an apparent domestic dispute at a pickup truck, resulting in a possible stabbing.

The incident happened in the truck lanes off Exit 12 in Carteret, according to News12.
