South Amboy, NJ - Yet another case of animal hoarding in the Middlesex/Monmouth County area.

Earlier this week, the Woodbridge Animal Shelter was called in for up to 30 cats and kittens being kept in a home in South Amboy, reports NJ.com. The Woodbridge Animal Shelter contracts out its services to municipalities in the area. The cats were taken to the Woodbridge shelter, which is now at capacity and cannot take in any more cat or kitten drop offs. Woodbridge: More than 100 cats were found in a condo in Iselin on June 29, and dead cat carcasses were found inside the walls. Patch reported on that story here.

Keyport: In late June, 17 dogs were removed from a Keyport home where the flea and fly infestation was so thick, the windows were actually blacked out by bugs. “This flea infestation is the worst I have ever seen. We couldn’t tell that the white dogs were actually white," said MCSPCA Medical Director Dr. Nicole Feddersen.

Colts Neck: The SPCA received an animal cruelty complaint for a Colts Neck home on June 29, where 36 cats were being kept inside the home. Read more here.

Howell Township: More than 150 dogs, including a newborn litter of puppies, were removed from "inhumane and deplorable conditions" in a Howell Township home in early June, in what is being referred to as an extreme hoarding situation.
