Loman Dealership Turns Down Ford Franchise

of Woodbridge underwent a name change in December - that was when the dealership dropped its Ford automotive franchise. 

The car seller, prominently on display in the middle of north and southbound Route 1 in the Iselin section of Woodbridge, no longer displays the Ford logo. 

But unless you're looking for it, you wouldn't notice. The dealership is still up and running, and they still sell Kia automobiles.

"We sell quality used cars," a receptionist at the dealership said. 

Phil, a Loman Kia manager who declined to give his last name, also refused to say what the status was with the dealership's Ford affiliation.

"We are a fully functioning car company. Do you want to buy a car?" he said.

He would not give the reason for the change.

A Ford corporate spokesman, representing the east coast division of the automotive giant, said the relationship between the car maker and its Woodbridge affiliate, is no more.

"On behalf of the New York region, Loman Ford elected to resign their Ford franchise on December 20, 2011, and the franchise will not be reestablished," the Ford spokesman said.

John Loman, head of the local dealership, did not return phone calls.
