PHOTOS: Woodbridge Drains Abandoned Pools to Fight Zika
The township has identified eight more abandoned pools at Woodbridge properties, and all eight are slated for demolition this week.
Woodbridge, NJ - With the entire country on edge for Zika virus this summer, here are photos of Woodbridge Township draining an abandoned swimming pool at 23 Wedgewood Avenue.
The pool draining was done last week as part of Woodbridge's attempt to eliminate potential mosquito (Zika) breeding areas. In addition to 23 Wedgewood, the township demolished an abandoned pool at 116 Crampton Avenue last week. Both pools were drained first and the stagnant water was pumped into a DPW container truck for disposal at the Woodbridge sewer treatment facility.
Township officials have identified eight more abandoned pools at Woodbridge properties, and all eight are slated for demolition this week.
