Woodbridge Teens Charged After Disturbing Geese-Killing Video Surfaces
A video that showed one of the teens running down the geese with an SUV was uploaded to Snapchat, and spread around school, authorities say.

Two 17-year-old Woodbridge boys lured a family of geese into the street, then one teen drove his vehicle into the geese while the other videotaped the killing, authorities said.
The boys, who were both juniors at Colonia High School when the incident occurred around June 8, have been charged with the intentional killing of several geese and/or goslings by the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, according to a news release from the agency.

The videotape was uploaded to Snapchat and spread around the school, but several concerned citizens alerted the NJSPCA.
The attack occurred on the 300 block of New Dover Road, and at least one goose was found dead around the corner, on Dorset Drive.

The Ford Explorer that was used to run down the goose family was found in the school parking lot, with “goose feathers embedded into the front license plate, grill and bumper.”
After several days of investigation, the boys were found, and while being questioned with their parents’ permission, they admitted to their involvement.
The animal abuse charges were filed through the juvenile bureau of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, and the case will most likely be referred to Family Court.
The boys’ names were not released because of their age.
But the NJSPCA said they could release video and photos because the teens are not clearly visible.
The NJSPCA, Woodbridge police and the Woodbridge Animal Control division handled the investigation.
More charges may be filed “against others involved in the matter.”
