Gov. Christie Gives Wyckoff 9/11 Memorial Flag [Photo]

Flag was flown over World Trade Center on Sept. 11 anniversary

Governor Chris Christie sent Wyckoff a powerful token memorializing last year's of the 9/11 attacks.

A flag flown over the World Trade Center site on 9/11/11 was presented to Mayor Chris DePhillips by Matthew Mowers, the regional director of Intergovernmental Affairs for Chris Christie, last Thursday.

A number of other flags were presented to other communities, according to the mayor, who said that Wyckoff's flag would be placed in a case and kept in Town Hall.

"Wyckoff was hit hard and we lost 11 residents," said Mayor Chris DePhillips. "It is very fitting that we received this flag."

The mayor said that Governor Christie also sent him a letter thanking DePhillips for his service.

DePhillips said his family was inexorably tied to the attacks on the World Trade Center — his wife Patti worked in the towers and survived the attacks and the couple lost friends and clients.
