Doing Our Part, Part 2

Who is DSM? Simple. We are a full-service advertising, marketing and public relations agency who love what we do.

If you read last week’s post, Jess wrote about our first Street 2 Street tournament experience. The day began with a prayer and concluded with a mini orange phenomenon.

A little boy, probably the youngest kid there, was the first to ask me for a wristband. He saw the large bag full with something orange and wandered over to see what it was. I gave him one and in less than an hour, I had none left. By the time we left that day, 50 players, mentors, coaches, volunteers, spectators, a dog and even a player’s grandmother had the orange band on their wrists. I stepped back by the park’s entrance and really soaked it in for a moment. We created this. I was so happy to see the enthusiasm and excitement that these silly cotton wristbands had caused and I hope that people in our own community will be able to express this sentiment as well.

As a side note, I always believe that no good deed goes unnoticed and this day was solid proof of this notion. Jess and I had volunteered a Saturday to help others and in return, we got a little unexpected treat of our own. Actually, it wasn’t little at all; was heavy and costs more than anything else I have ever tried on before. If you look at the pictures in Jess’s post, you’ll see that the two of us had the honor of wearing The New York Giants Superbowl ring. It was such a nice surprise to meet so many great people (including the Chaplin for the NY G-MEN) who got Jess and I giddy, being the big blue fans that we are!

About the Author: Dayna

Dayna graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey, where she earned her self-designed B.A. through a contract major in Contemporary Arts: Advertising and Public Relations, in addition to what should be a doctorate in multi-tasking and masters in sports obsessionism. Dayna would like to think of herself as a go-getter and believes it is the reason she landed this gig. It was her determination to contact Darren and create a position for herself, when one really didn’t exist yet.

Dayna has put her plans to take over the world on hold and is now Darren’s new sidekick, focusing on writing new business proposals and estimates, managing client accounts, researching, putting her two cents in with the creative team, making sure our growing pack of dogs (in which she added her puppy, Kayah, to) have water, among many other tasks. From here on out, Dayna is now referred to as “D2” and her new favorite color is officially…orange.
