Keep It Crazy…Or Simple
Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations… All Under One Roof.
In June 2011 I was relaxing at the Ritz Carlton in the Cayman Islands loving life, being adventurous, footloose and fancy free. Life was good, or so I thought. I’m a very routine type of person and borderline OCD. I like things where they belong, like knowing in advance what is going to happen so that I can plan for it etc. Fast-forward one year. My life is insanely crazy now but all for good reasons. Boy has life changed. Since that time, we had a baby girl, moved in with my parents (complete with husband, newborn, 3 cats, 1 dog and a tortoise) and just completed (or almost completed as of today) a major construction project at our house. A few weeks ago, I couldn’t even remember where I was going and got off at Russell Ave. instead of Ewing on my way to work! Talk about running around like a chicken without a head. Or how about the time, I was in such a rush that I didn’t close the back of my SUV and all the stuff I just purchased at Babies-R-Us landed all over Route 17 South.
Despite this temporary (I hope) hectic lifestyle, I went back to work, dealt with house construction, coped with being the VP of a charity, dealt with a newborn, and lived with my parents and commuted back and forth from work to our house to my parents house every day. Who would have thought all those years ago that I would be back in my childhood room (which used to be decorated with New Kids on the Block and Kirk Cameron posters) with my husband and child; definitely not me. Throughout all this chaos I had to manage to keep myself together without losing my mind. Unless you talk to Darren who might have a different opinion.

Well, we made it. We are all moved back into the house trying to fall into some sort of routine. I’m sure all of you will find it funny but also fascinating that I really enjoy coming to work because it is the only place I can sit down and focus (my fellow co-workers make it enjoyable too). Even though I have a lot going on in my life and there is no routine, just organized chaos, I know these things will pass; the construction on my house will soon be finished, my daughter will stop crying at night and every time we are in the car, my road rage that is brought on by the crying in the car will settle down, and I will still continue to love my job and all the people that I work with! Big shout out to all of you for having to deal with me over the past year, I love you all!

About the Author: Christine
Christine McIndoe didn’t choose to become a star in the full-service advertising industry. Like Michael Corleone famously said, “They just kept sucking me back in, she says.” For more than 10 years Christine has been working on some amazing advertising campaigns for clients across the spectrum yet still has time for her passion, keeping pets with their families. That’s why she and Darren, along with some of their friends, started Companion Animal Advocates; Christine is currently the organization’s Vice President, Co-Treasurer and Marketing Chair (as well as chief bottle washer).
She’s an organization fanatic, so working with mostly men has been one of her greatest challenges. How one ends up wearing the socks he didn’t put on in the morning is a mystery only the Y chromosome will ever grasp.
