The Longview Assisted Living Residence Receives Advance Standing Status
The Longview Assisted Living Residence at Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff recently received formal notification that it has been granted the distinction of Advance Standing status.

The Longview Assisted Living Residence at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff recently received formal notification from the New Jersey Department of Health that it has been granted the distinction of Advance Standing status. Longview voluntarily participated in the Advanced Standing for assisted living program, which is open to all licensed assisted-living residences and comprehensive personal-care homes in New Jersey. This program is facilitated by the Health Care Association of New Jersey, in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Health. The intent is to provide a new way to compare assisted-living facilities beyond whether it meets minimum state-licensure standards.
“We are very thankful for this recognition,” said Douglas A. Struyk, CPA, LNHA, CHCC President and CEO.
“This Advanced Standing distinction recognizes the hard work of staff and volunteers over many years to establish a consistent level of high-quality care and excellent service.”

The Advanced Standing program is a distinction bestowed upon a facility, such as Longview, that successfully complies with all state, local, and federal regulations that pertain to licensed assisted-living facilities in New Jersey. Furthermore, this recognition evidences proven dedication to quality by participating in the National Center for Assisted Living’s Quality Performance Measures for certain prescribed quality indicators as chosen by an appointed peer review panel. Also included in earning this standing was a recent on-site survey that reviewed health-care needs as assessed and provided; medications and treatments; meal services and diet requests; activity programs including for those with cognitive issues; housekeeping services and kitchen-sanitation practices; employee training, licensure, and certification; and extensive medical record reviews.
CHCC has been serving the community since 1911, providing a broad scope of mental-health and elder-care programs.
