FRIDAY
Batstock Kickoff 2012,  Meadowlands Environmental Center, Lyndhurst
New Jersey’s own “Bat-Man”, Joe D’Angeli will kick off this weekend long event with a bat “meet and greet” at the Environmental Center Friday evening. You and the kiddos can enjoy snacks, drinks and a bat movie while in the company of these incredible animals. Rumor has it the legendary Bat Car may even make a special appearance! There is a $5.00 suggested donation per person for this event.

Wild Forest Lego Safari, The Bronx Zoo
This summer, journey to our Wild Forest to check out giant LEGO sculptures of tigers, flamingos, gorillas, and other exotic wildlife, then visit their real-life counterparts around the zoo. Construct your own Lego sculptures at our build zone, and enjoy Wildlife Theater performances and the hit musical puppet show, Avenue Zoo!  Don't miss out this special journey ends September 3rd!

Final Summer Concert , NJ Botanical Gardens
Pack your lawn chair and head to the NJ Botanical Gardens Friday night for a final summer concert featuring Carolann Solebello & Band.  A folk audience favorite, Carolann is most known as a founding member of the female trio Red Molly.  Concert moves to the Carriage House in bad weather.   Cost:  $5 donation.

Corn Fest 2012 , Abmas Farm
If your family loves to chomp down on a great ear of corn then the Corn Fest at 2012 is a MUST.  Join the corn eating contest, make a corn doll craft or play the corn hole game.  It's all things CORN this Saturday at Abmas Farm!

Kids Workshop, Lowes
Come build an Onion Carriage for Shrek and Fiona at Lowe’s this week.  It’s the final Dreamworks Summer workshop and you won’t want to miss it.  Kids can build a wooden project, get a free apron, goggles, patch and more! You’ll want to reserve your spot ahead of time.  Cost:  FREE

Royal Tea Party on the Lawn, Pompton Lakes LibraryIt’s a tea party on the lawn of the Emanuel Einstein Memorial Library. Hosted by Her Royal Highness Tea Parties, this afternoon event that starts at 2:00 PM will be filled with fun music, a magic show, stories, dress up and more! Reservations required.  Fee: $25 per adult plus one kid, $15 additional kids
