Jazz fans, you are in for a special treat this weekend.

The Franklin Lakes Library is hosting a free concert of the Daniel Bennett Group on Sunday, beginning at 2 p.m.

“It really made sense to hold our New Jersey CD release concert at the library,” said Bennett.  “There are some really great music fans and listeners who regularly attend the concert series at the library.”

The name of the new CD is Peace and Stability Among Bears.  It is the third and final installment of our "Bear trilogy" of albums, Bennett noted.  The album also features cartoon illustrations by well-known artist, Timothy Banks. The first two albums in the trilogy are A Nation of Bears and the Legend of Bear Thompson.

The Village Voice offered this description of the group: "Saxophonist Daniel Bennett makes hay with an airy approach that's buoyant enough to conjure notions of East African guitar riffs and Steve Reich's pastoral repetition."
