Wyckoff Father Daughter Cancer Survivors Launch Kickstarter Campaign For Bracelet Business
Gerhard Salmins and his daughter Rebecca created Knots & Arrows as a way of encouraging other cancer survivors.
WYCKOFF, N.J. — A young girl and her father have launched a kickstarter campaign to raise money for their business and to help cancer survivors.
Rebecca Salmins, 9, and her father, Gerhard, are cancer survivors. Salmins was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 6. She recently completed nearly 800 days of chemotherapy treatments and had surgery to remove a tumor from her neck. They recently founded Knots & Arrows, a bracelet-making business that draws its name from two inspirational quotes that inspired them as they went through their battles with cancer.

The pair launched a Kickstarter campaign to help finance the business. Their goal is to raise $25,000. To date, they have received nearly $2,000. The campaign ends in 27 days. They have already received $8,500 from a Go Fund Me campaign created last year.
All profits from the business will be put towards efforts to cure childhood cancers. Future proceeds will go towards the Tackle Kids Cancer Foundation at Hackensack University Medical Center where Salmins and her father were treated.
