Vegetables from the garden will be donated to a local food pantry.

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — The borough's new community garden will open Oct. 8 at 4 p.m. at McBride Field.
The garden is outgrowth of the garden at Franklin Lakes United Methodist Church.
Food from the garden will be given to a Paterson food pantry. The crop is expected to contribute more than 1,200 pounds of vegetables that the church garden has given to people in the past five years.
