Franklin Lakes Gets $500K Grant To Expand Trail System

The 12 acres of land is located near 125 acres of borough-owned open space and woodlands.

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — The borough received a $500,000 Green Acres grant to help expand a local system of trails and preserve more open space.

The 12 acres of meadows and woodlands are directly adjacent to 125 acres of borough-owned open space and woodlands. A large network of trails and nature paths exist on the land.

"The inclusion of this parcel is a rare opportunity to further expand upon the local trail system," a description of the project from the state Green Acres program states.
