Ramapo came back from a loss to St. Joe's last week with a 38-15 victory over the Wayne Valley Indians Friday night in a rough game that included penalties called on 18 plays.
Just 19 seconds into the contest, captain Doug Norkett charged 27 yards for the Raiders' first touchdown, and Tim Sternfield followed up with the extra point and a second 36-yard field goal in the first quarter for a 10-0 lead.
After several successful series of carries downfield, Wayne Valley quarterback Mike Eckrote tossed a touchdown pass to Luke Primerano to close the gap.

But Ramapo quarterback Ryan Dougherty connected on a pass to Norkett, who pushed a few yards and dramatically flipped over the defense to get the Raiders within striking distance. Matt Alpert's 11-yard carry got Ramapo to the 5-yard line, and Dougherty rifled a pass to Mike Hroncich to give the Raiders a 17-7 advantage at the half.
Ramapo end Justin Rice wreaked havoc on the line with a thundering sack to Eckrote, to keep the Indians in check.
