The Oakland seats will go uncontested, with incumbents Sadie Quinlan and Jane Castor retaining their seats.
Brown told Patch that he is not seeking re-election due to a busy work load and family life that may prevent him from giving the position the full attention it deserves.
"I am not running again due to business and personal issues that need my attention, which may prevent me attending meetings and putting in the time required to be an effective member of the Board of Education," said Brown, who has served on the board for four years.
"It it has been truly a rewarding experience. I am proud of the RIH schools and the education they provide to the students of our District."
The election will be held on Wednesday, April 27.
