State Grant to Help Fund Franklin Lakes Road Repair

Almost 400 municipalities awarded grant money

New Jersey will help Franklin Lakes repair McCoy Road and Huron Road via a $146,500 local aid grant.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation announced last week that it has awarded 387 Local Aid grants to 376 cities and towns across the state to advance street improvement, rehabilitation and safety projects. Local Aid grants allow municipalities to move forward with road rehabilitation projects without burdening local property taxpayers.

The bulk of the Local Aid grants were offered under the Municipal Aid program, through which 374 grants totaling $76,126,200 were distributed. Another 10 Local Aid Infrastructure Fund grants worth $1,810,000 and three Safe Streets to Transit grants worth $500,000 were also announced.
