Wyckoff Ranked Among The Safest Places In New Jersey

The borough was among several Bergen County towns ranked among the safest places to live in New Jersey, according to a report.

WYCKOFF, NJ — Wyckoff was ranked the 33rd safest place to live in New Jersey recently.

A report by ValuePenguin.com, a personal finance and research and analysis website, ranked towns based on a variety of FBI crime metrics, including property-based crimes — burglaries and vehicle thefts— and violent crimes, including rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. Rankings were based on 2014 statistics.

Other Bergen County municipalities ranked high were: Fort Lee, New Milford, Mahwah, Bergenfield, Dumont, Hillsdale, Old Tappan, River Vale, and Norwood.

There were three lists: Large towns, with populations more than 30,000, mid-sized communities with populations between 15,000 and 30,000, and small towns with between 5,000 and 15,000 people. Towns with less than 5,000 residents were excluded.
