Wyckoff Residents Asked Not To Put Plastic Bags In Recycling Containers

Residents asked to bring plastic bags to nearby grocery stores.

WYCKOFF, NJ - Residents are being asked to bring their plastic bags to local grocery stores on a regular basis and not put them in their recycling containers.

Township officials are asking residents to bring their used plastic bags to the Wyckoff Stop & Shop.

Recycling markets have become “very selective” and they are not accepting plastic bags placed in with recyclables left outside for pickup, officials said.

“Better still, consider purchasing reusable canvas bags to take with you when you shop,” officials said.

Bags may also be dropped off at the Acme stores in Midland Park and Allendale or at the Foodtown in North Haledon.
