Raiders Super Bowl-Winning Team Recognized by Mayor, Committeemen
The 8th graders were undefeated this season
The Wyckoff Raiders won it all in November, but last night the Township Committee put it in the record forever.
Wyckoff's governing body officially congratulated the Raiders’ A1 senior team with a ceremony in Town Hall following their recent Super Bowl win.
"Be it forever proclaimed by the Township Committee and the Township of Wyckoff ... that the Wyckoff Raiders 8th Grade A Team, their head coach Pat O'Hagan and his staff are hereby extended congratulations on behalf of the entire community for the significant success they have achieved," Mayor Kevin Rooney read from the official proclamation.

Players and coaches joined the committee in front of parents and supporters who snapped photos and cheered during a festive Monday night meeting.
Rooney handed each player a copy of the proclamation and praised the team for serving as positive role models for other young athletes in the community by "illustrating the awards which can be achieved through the commitment and diligence pursing excellence."

The Raiders’ A1 Senior team, made up of 13 and 14 year olds, capped an unbeaten season with a Super Bowl championship in the Bergen Passaic Youth Football League.
With its 27-6 victory over the Wayne PAL the Raiders not only secured the top prize, but also a special place in the rich history football in Wyckoff — teams have been hitting the fields here for 50 years.
“This team was remarkable in the way they went about attaining this goal,” Raiders' Coach Pat O’Hagan . “They were all business, all the time, and very workmanlike. We felt good about this team coming into the season, but such drive, dedication and focus is hard to come by when you’re talking about 13 and 14 year olds. They really put their stamp on the program.”
