The challenge is called “Devious Licks,” and it encourages students to steal or damage school items, make a video of their efforts and post the video online. For each item posted, the student earns a point.

As a direct result of the Devious Licks challenge, some of our schools unfortunately have had property destroyed, damaged or stolen.

We want to remind students, parents and guardians that these behaviors violate the school district’s Student Code of Conduct. Students who engage in these behaviors will face the consequences of their actions, which may include suspension of five days or more.

We encourage you to discuss this issue with your student. We realize the vast majority of our students are respectful to each other and to school property, and we urge all students to be mindful of their actions.

If you have any questions, please contact the principal at your student’s school.
