1. Update: Albany's Central Warehouse teardown progressing as planned (wnyt.com) — Albany's long-abandoned Central Warehouse is finally coming down, with overnight demolition work underway and expected to wrap up by summer 2027. Crews are installing scaffolding and working from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. to avoid disrupting nearby Amtrak service, using state funding secured by Gov. Kathy Hochul for this complex, long-awaited teardown.
   

2. 2 card skimming devices removed from Family Dollar in Albany (news10.com) — Albany residents who used EBT cards at the Family Dollar near the Capital Green Apartments on Central Avenue are being urged to change their PINs after two skimming devices were removed. About 500 SNAP cards were used there recently, and officials recommend using the card freeze feature and contacting EBT customer service if you see suspicious activity.
   

3. Former Albany officer pleads guilty to possessing cocaine (cbs6albany.com) — A former Albany police officer from Wynantskill has pleaded guilty to a felony cocaine possession charge after over four ounces were found at his Rensselaer home. Investigated by State Police and the Albany County DA's office, he now faces a proposed six-year state prison sentence, and the Albany Police Department says he has been terminated and stresses its commitment to accountability.
   

4. CBA, Shen squaring off in midseason Class AA showdown (spectrumlocalnews.com) — Christian Brothers Academy, fresh off wins over Archbishop Stepinac, Saratoga Springs, and Albany, heads to Shenendehowa for a key midseason Class AA showdown Friday night. Shen's resilient squad, led by quarterback Jack Clawson, hopes to snap CBA's regular-season streak in a matchup featuring one of the section's top offenses against one of the state's best secondaries.
   

5. NY fugitive arrested in Gwinnett County after gunfire involving multiple agencies (ocgnews.com) — A man wanted in connection with a May 6 killing in Albany has been captured in Gwinnett County, Georgia, after a standoff and exchange of gunfire with law enforcement. Authorities say he was wounded, taken to a hospital, and is now in custody, while Georgia investigators review the officer-involved shooting and encourage anyone with information to contact them.
