DA launches domestic violence task force after 3 deaths (wnyt.com) — Albany County officials have launched a new intimate violence prevention task force after three recent domestic violence homicides, including a South Pearl Street killing earlier this month. Funded by a state STRIVE grant, the effort will coordinate local police and social service agencies to intervene earlier and better support at-risk families across Albany.

Albany suspect in viral attack videos at Albany Med under mental health eval (wnyt.com) — Albany police are asking local residents, especially anyone downtown or near Albany Med, to come forward if they recognize or were harmed by a man seen in viral videos attacking people on city streets. The identified suspect is currently undergoing a mental health evaluation at Albany Med, but investigators say they still need witnesses and victims to help support potential charges.
