Children's Brain Tumor Foundation LI Walk
First annual Children's Brain Tumor Foundation Walk to take place at Eisenhower Park on September 23, 2012.
Twenty-one months ago, I didn't know if my son would live or die. He was diagnosed with an inoperable malignant brain tumor three weeks after his 22nd birthday.
Fast forward to today. He's doing super well. We're fishing and laughing and looking forward to the future. Do we approach each doctor's visit and MRI with a little trepidation? Of course. But we are doing our best to live each day to the fullest, and creating a new life for him. There is much of his old self still here, but once in awhile his brain will get "stuck" and we have to take a step back and refocus. We all have a new normal, and I cherish every moment, every day.
On September 23, 2012, he and I will walk in the first Long Island Children's Brain Tumor Foundation Walk at Eisenhower Park. CBTF is an amazing organization, and we look forward to being able to give back.
