Introducing The Village Voyager
Chronicling the funny, exciting and off-the-wall experiences that I encounter as I navigate the journey of being a homeowner, a mom-to-be, a regular commuter and proud Babylon Village resident.

Welcome and thanks for stopping by! I am so excited to be starting a blog here for Babylon Village Patch—partly because my parents spent a lot of money on my education and journalism degree, and partly because I absolutely love and miss writing.
As far as what you can expect to read here, I have a very full and (mostly) funny life and look forward to sharing and documenting parts of it with you. I’m a relatively newlywed coming up on my second anniversary and expecting our first baby in May. My husband and I moved here to Babylon Village from Forest Hills just after our wedding once we purchased our house from my family. Before we moved in, my great-grandparents, then my grandparents owned the house, and finally in December of 2010 we closed on the sale, which transferred ownership to us from my Aunt and Mom. Our baby will be the fifth generation in our home… that we are working very hard to make into our own. That’s always good for some blog fodder, especially given my hormonal and nesting phases right now. God bless my husband.
I commute to the city three days a week for work and look forward to sharing some of the sights and situations that I experience on my two-hour round-trip journey. I’ve seen it all from nail clipping and a shoeshine, to over sharing and outside voice phone conversations on the train. We’ve been stranded at Jamaica for 6+ hours. I’ve battled morning sickness while sharing a row of seats with a commuter who thinks that Kung Pao Chicken is a good breakfast choice. Currently as I type on my morning ride in, I’m listening to a round of a capella coughing from my fellow riders that is what I consider the morning opera of wintertime commuters everywhere.

I look forward to chronicling the happenings of our village and how it relates to my little circle of family and friends. I’m most excited to hear from all of you and read your opinions and experiences. Whatever your reason for stopping by, I hope that you find something here that you can relate to or at the very least something that will make you chuckle and come back for more!
