Necessity is the mother of invention. Unique Cane

During a routine physical exam my doctor asked if I had any problems. I did have a slight back ache but otherwise I felt great. After x-rays he told me my hips were deteriorating and causing my back to ache.  He suggested I use a cane to prolong my need for total hip replacement surgery. Canes are often a symbol of old age and weakness. I was too young and baulked at the idea but I would use one if it was unlike the typical “cane”.  I wanted a cane that would take the attention off from me and onto the cane. It had to be strong, comfortable to use, and whimsical. After looking at hundreds of canes on-line and in stores, I decided to design and make one to my own specifications. The cane I made is patterned after a human leg bone and it has proven fo be more than I ever expected. It attracts attention every where I go. People approach me and want to know where I ever found such a great cane. I call it “My 3^rd Leg”. As the proverbial saying goes, “Necessity is the mother of invention”. Fuzewase@aol.com.
