Lindenhurst Man Dies After Being Accidentally Run Over by Co-Worker

A Lindenhurst man working under a truck in Hicksville Wednesday morning was killed when his co-worker accidentally ran him over, Nassau Police said.

According to police, David M. Zimmerly, an employee at the U.S. Postal Service Vehicle Maintenance Facility located at 109 Ludy Street, was repairing the truck at 9:32 a.m. when another employee, unaware that Zimmerly was under the truck, moved the truck and ran over Zimmerly.

Zimmerly was transported to Nassau University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. No criminality is suspected at this time, police said.
