Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt in Wyandanch Crash, Pickup Truck Driver Charged With DWI
The crash occurred Thursday night.

A North Babylon man was arrested for DWI and driving without a license following a crash in Wyandanch Thursday night that seriously injured a motorcyclist, police said.
According to police, Fred Hubbard, 52, of Wyandanch, was riding his 2008 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle north on Remsen Place when it collided head-on with a 1995 Dodge Ram pickup truck that had just made a right turn from Cumberbach Street at about 7:30 p.m.
Hubbard suffered a leg injury and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he is listed in serious condition.

The driver of the pickup truck, 38-year-old Shaun Boyd, was not injured in the crash. He was charged with DWI and first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle for driving with a suspended license, police said.
Boyd is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.

The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone who has not been interviewed and has information about the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
