Firefighters battle massive flames at Bay Shore scrapyard (news12.com) — A major scrapyard fire on Moffitt Boulevard in Bay Shore sent thick smoke over the area Sunday afternoon and even delayed LIRR Montauk Branch trains, but no injuries were reported. Bay Shore volunteer firefighters and neighboring departments battled strong nor'easter winds for more than three hours before bringing the blaze under control, and investigators are still determining what sparked it.

The new report reshuffles Suffolk's top 10, with some districts climbing and others sliding, giving Bay Shore parents fresh context on how local schools compare across the county and state.

Suffolk HS football roundup from weather-delayed Week 3 games (newsday.com) — Bay Shore's football team stayed perfect with an 18-0 shutout of Riverhead, marking the program's first 3-0 start since 1986 and giving local fans plenty to cheer about. Strong rushing, multiple sacks, and key interceptions powered the win, which capped a weather-delayed Week 3 slate of Suffolk high school games.
