BrownstoneJAZZ is an evening where some of today's best JAZZ Performers concert in a classic 19th c.style Townhouse, located in the Historical Gateway area of Bedford Stuyvestant, tree-lined community. There are many that have created a different, more up to date way of keeping jazz alive than this venue. BSJazz keeps jazz alive in THE ROOM which has kept a more back in the day style of enjoying great music. The sound radiates off the orginal wooden areas of THE ROOM which allows for a natural acoustic sound like none other. When the walls and floors are shared by wooden and brass instruments, and you're sitting in the middle of it all, the musical feel is haunting, in the 1800's intimate building. The beautiful design of BrownstoneJAZZ is an extremely smaller version of New York's larger fastinating Music Halls, but just as effective. There is a time in the evening when the audience can become a part of the show, and perform with World Class Musicians. The wonderful talent that performs during that time makes it more than an OPEN MIC. The performers are something to witness. Often enough, they have gained a showcase performance, that BrownstoneJAZZ promotes. BrownstoneJAZZ is all about the music, yet there must be a break during the festival, to refresh the musicians and audience with a home cooked meal, prepared by the evening hostess DebbieMc. A delicious buffet of Famous Fried Fish, Slaw and Corn Bread. keep within another Jazz tradition, the Fish Fry is usually served late. After intermission the seats are filled once again, and the night closes by the enjoyment of the last note played as the audience descends from THE ROOM.
