He was taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition, police said.

The memorial was set up to remember 16-year-old Kleimer Mendez and 18-year-old Antonio Villa, who were shot dead on Sunday evening outside George Walker Jr. Park, found near the border of Cypress Hills and Bed-Stuy. A third teen, 17, was hurt in the Sunday shooting, according to police.

The two shootings are the latest in a spike in gun violence in Brooklyn and across the five boroughs.

Activists have recently held a "Cease Fire Peace Walk" and "Stop the Violence Town Hall" in Bed-Stuy hoping to address the shooting surge in the area.

In the 75th Precinct, which oversees the park, there have been 24 shootings in the past 28 days, compared to just four during the same time period last year, according to NYPD data.
