My World is Not Your World

Elgin
Gallery is pleased to present My
World is Not Your World, a solo show featuring international
glass artist John Drury. The prolific Drury's "grab-bag" sensibility allows him to remain an iconoclast in the history of glass art, a world more commonly characterized by flawless creations and beauty. Through
tactility, recycling and repurpose, Drury’s new installation will also incorporate the work of Ionel Talpazan, a refugee from Romania who has obsessively created numerous drawings, paintings and sculptures of flying saucers after claiming to witness a UFO as a child. The shared sensibility in each artist's work being their individual search for place, uncensored voice and the right to a unique self.

Please join us at Elgin Gallery on Friday, June 13th from 6:30-9:00 PM for the opening reception of My World is Not Your World. The exhibit will be on display through Wednesday, July 9th and may be viewed Friday-Sunday from 1:00-6:00 PM or by appointment. We look forward to seeing you at Elgin Gallery!
