Peluchin The Pooch Is Missing In Bed-Stuy

The Maltese-Bijon Frise mutt, who was "a gift from Santa" disappeared five days after Christmas, his owners said.

BEDFORD STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN -- Peluchin the Maltese mutt is missing, and possibly hurt, in Bed-Stuy, according to his family.

Edwin De La Rosa, 16, believes the 3-year-old pup escaped from his family's home near Stockholm and Wilson Avenue between noon and 2 p.m. on Dec. 30, he said.

"He's usually afraid to go outside," De La Rosa explained. "I heard a noise, but I didn't see him."

Peluchin has been with the De La Rosas most of his life, ever since he arrived as a Christmas present three years ago, said De La Rosa.

The Maltese-Bijon Frise mix has since become a member of the family, who love his sweet and loyal nature.

"He's always waiting for me when I come downstairs in the morning," De La Rosa said. "My whole family is really sad."

Neighbors have since spotted Peluchin, who appeared injured as if he'd been hit by a car, near DeKalb Avenue, De La Rosa's sister Alejandra said.

De La Rosa also noted Peluchin had a rash on his ear and back leg, which he hopes will help neighbors identify the lost dog.

Anyone who spots Peluchin is asked to contact the family at (347)856-1241 or at (646)-363-2515.
