Subway Delays Leave Brooklynites Stranded In 'Freezing' Stations
Signal and switch problems on the A and C line left Brooklyn straphangers waiting for 30 minutes Thursday morning.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — Straphangers were stranded on “freezing” platforms in Brooklyn during rush hour Thursday morning when problems on the A and C lines delayed service for up to half an hour.
A signal problem at High Street around 7:20 a.m and a switch problem at the Utica Avenue station around 9:20 a.m. stalled and rerouted A and C trains in Brooklyn, according to announcements on the MTA website.
Some northbound A and C trains were rerouted to the F line between Jay Street-MetroTech in Brooklyn and West Fourth Street-Washington Square in Manhattan.

Officials said the Utica Avenue problem had been resolved by about 10:10 a.m. but warned passengers to expect residual delays on the A, C and F trains.
Straphangers took to Twitter to complain of long waits in cold stations.

Are c trains running? We’ve been waiting 30 minutes on a freezing platform at Clinton Washington with no information.

Been standing at Nostrand Ave waiting for the A for more than 30 minutes. Let me guess: signal problems?

I can no longer feel my toes. Kids are hear shivering. Just close the doors. Or is that malfunctioning as well?
