Rodney James attends Talent Unlimited High School, the prestigious Juilliard Music Advancement Program and is currently the youngest member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra. He recently was awarded with the Deacon Leroy Applin Young Lions award from the Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium, he's the youngest person to ever receive this award. Hopefully young musicians and single parents will read our story and be inspired. This kid literally listens to music in his sleep and spends hours practicing in order to perfect his craft. Practice, practice, practice, that is how he was able to play at Carnegie Hall. http://www.ebony.com/video/life/the-coolest-black-kid-in-no-5-rodney-james-spann-555#axzz2xezfJXgd
