Video: Cops Search For Shooter Who Opened Fire On Bed-Stuy Vigil
A disturbing video shows the moment a shooter opened fire on a group gathered for a vigil on Gates Avenue, sending a man to the hospital.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A disturbing video released by police this week shows the moment a shooter opened fire on a vigil on Gates Avenue, sending one man to the hosptial.
The shooter walked up to a group gathered for the vigil in front of a building on Gates Avenue, near Tompkins Avenue, just after 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, police said. Cops did not specify what the vigil was for.
As they approach the group, the suspect takes out a gun from their pockets and begins shooting into the crowd, video shows. The shooter takes aim at a 34-year-old man as the rest of the group flees, according to police and the video.

The 34-year-old man falls from his chair and rolls away on the sidewalk as the shooter fires at least three times in his direction. The bullets hit his right arm and chest, police said.
The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police released a photo from the surveillance video, asking that anyone who can identify the suspect contact the department:

The shooting is at least the third in Bed-Stuy in the last week as the neighborhood and the borough deal with an ongoing surge in gun violence.
Cops are also searching for suspects in a shooting on Herkimer Street on Monday that left two dead and a shooting from Friday when two other men were shot in the torso on Monroe Street. One of the men from that shooting died from his injuries and the other was sent to the hospital in serious condition, according to police.
