Bedford Issues Information On Coronavirus

The town supervisor said he will update the information as warranted.

BEDFORD, NY — The Town of Bedford issued a status update on the new coronavirus, providing residents with information as to where the town and the region stands in regard to COVID-19, which is the formal name of the virus. Supervisor Chris Burdick said he'd been in touch with Derek Anderson, executive director of Northern Westchester Hospital, asking for assistance in launching a “complete, coordinated community discussion” of the coronavirus, as well as Dr. Sherlita Amler, the Westchester County health commissioner.

Burdick said he will provide regular updates to the community as developments warrant.

The information, which can be accessed from the town's website, contains information on the new coronavirus, what steps one can do to protect oneself and the risks of the disease.

There are also local, county and state resources, as well as federal health agencies.

Currently, there are 18 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Westchester County. There are three cases in New York City and one on Long Island.
